This global organisation in the engineering services sector are looking to hire a Procurement Systems Manager to drive best practice and efficiency through all category spend activities, by ensuring effective systems, processes and category principles are implemented.

You will form part of an agile, flexible pool of strategic Procurement specialists deployed in the business to provide functional support to the Military Aviation division.

This strategic role will be at the forefront of driving the business forward through supply chain strategy and effective procurement initiatives.

About your new role:

You will report directly Head of Procurement and will need to work across a number of different relationships, internal and externally, in order to enable the lines of business to achieve the optimum benefit from category opportunities including driving best practice for control of non-direct spend such as travel and subsistence as well as other indirect spend areas.

This role will be the functional lead for the use of group systems such as SAP and Ariba as well as the interfaces between them and other operational systems and will ensure they operate seamlessly, as well as ensure the function understands and operates to company policy, process and procedures.

This role will also ensure that the benefit procurement are delivering will have visibility and is reported correctly.

Main duties will include:

  • Accountable for functional performance of SRM and category management principles in the sourcing, selection and management of suppliers.
  • Provide category spend analysis such that spend reduction or value enhancing opportunities can be identified and appropriate spend analysis incorporated into the procurement dashboards.
  • Ensure appropriate reporting and visibility of the functions and operations external spend value plans.
  • Deliver benefit to non-operational spend and identify direct category opportunities that might exist across business areas.
  • Ensure Group and Sector procurement arrangements and contracts are used and that they operate effectively, delivering benefit to lines of business.
  • Ensure Shared Services support the lines of business and operate in accordance with their operating remit for the division and are performance managed.
  • Systems are being operated in accordance with group policy and procedure and business improvement opportunities are identified and implemented.
  • Support the Procurement and Supply Chain Managers in current spend areas as well as new bid work for their lines of business where they may need specialist knowledge, ensuring group and sector contracts are utilised where they are appropriate.

About you:

  • Knowledge of Defence and Security contract requirements
  • Degree level qualified in relevant discipline
  • MCIPs qualified
  • Experienced in managing commercial contracts including SLA's
  • Experienced in the development and management of International supply chains
  • Highly developed Negotiation skills capable of employing a number of styles
  • Financial acumen and experience of financial models
