My client, a well-known media company based in West London, is currently seeking a Procurement Manager to join their team on a 9 month contract. You should ideally be immediately available or on a maximum of 2 weeks' notice.

This role is based in the Technology Procurement team, leading the strategic direction of sourcing for various Telecom and Networks related spend categories and working primarily to support the requirements of the Technology function. The role will be Group focused with occasional travel to Europe. A background in Telecoms and/or Media is important for this role.

Key Responsibilities
· Ownership of the Procurement strategies for the agreed Technology categories
· Maintain and build Director-level relationships, with appropriate regular communication, ensuring alignment between their strategic plans and Procurement's approach
· Provide strategic commercial input to a broad range of initiatives, including cost-saving programmes, business process outsourcing and relevant acquisitions
· Working with the Team Lead to assess and deliver against broader Procurement and payment initiatives
· Lead negotiations with suppliers.
· Have a good understanding of the Technology and the challenges faced in this industry.
· Be capable of evaluating all possible options against relevant factors i.e. technical, commercial, logistical, risk etc and recommending the best option to the business

Required experience
· Proven Procurement experience, specifically including the development of category plans
· Knowledge and experience of running RFPs
· Knowledge of Telecom and Networks environment/landscape
· Knowledge of retail and wholesale telecoms market
· Experience of the Telco space outside of the UK
· Experience of working for a broadcaster/media company.
· Excellent negotiating skills and commercial acumen
· Creative thinking - initiative and enthusiasm in finding new sourcing approaches to balance operational and commercial pressures
· Ability to put relevant structure around the decision making process and ensure all options are understood in relation to the production requirements
· Ability to manage variety of projects and the associated expectations

Qualifications
· A business, Legal or Technology related degree
· A procurement related qualification is desirable
