Procurement Manager

£40,000 - £55,000


We are looking to recruit a Procurement Manager on a permanent basis to join the number one Global Leader in Professional Resourcing and Workforce Solutions - Manpower Group.

The purpose of the role is to provide leadership of ManpowerGroup's UK procurement strategy and act as the primary point of contact for all procurement suppliers as well as the wider Manpower UK business and staffing network. The principles of the procurement strategy are based on ensuring that the services required by the business are provided by suppliers who demonstrate their ability to deliver compliant products and services, on time and in a cost effective manner, whilst remaining best in class in their own field.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible for proactive sourcing products and services as required by the business and inviting relevant parties to quote/tender for business
  • Day to day management responsibility of a team of 3 purchasing staff
  • Undertaking tender processes and ensuring all internal colleagues are compliant with the ManpowerGroup policies
  • Negotiation with suppliers
  • Managing suppliers, relationships and SLA's
  • Setting, monitoring and managing quality to evaluate supplier performance
  • Draft communications and guidelines for business for all new contracts / deals
  • Working closely with Accounts Payable to review all spends that should be done through negotiated suppliers
  • Effective proactive liaison with other departments as necessary to forecast, plan to meet, and to supply demand to relevant quality
  • Effective proactive liaison with other departments re operating, resourcing, services as necessary, e.g. IT
  • Cost saving budgeting and targeting
  • Quarterly reviews with designated suppliers in order to monitor performance against SLAs
  • Review quarterly reports on usage and spend and action any recommendations
  • Supplier performance management/remedial action if required

We are looking for a candidate that can display the following skills

  • Track record in procurement within a medium/large business
  • Category knowledge within fleet management, IT, telecoms, services or other similar indirect fields would be advantageous
  • Strong commercial negotiation skills
  • Professionalism in dealing with external and internal customers as well as third party suppliers
  • Immaculate attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in challenging environments
  • Leadership and ability to deliver against a pre-agreed strategy
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills
  • Enjoy working within a team environment
