The Site Infrastructure Procurement Team forms part of the Procurement and Supply Chain function within the Naval Nuclear sector of Babcock International Group. The team supports the delivery of extensive and diverse infrastructure upgrades and improvements across the entire Devonport Site and beyond. A significant, recent commitment to invest in site improvement necessitates expansion of the existing core team to accommodate delivery.

Main Purpose of Role
Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, the Programme Procurement Manager will lead a team of procurement professionals ensuring effective performance in support of both functional and business unit requirements. The Programme Procurement Manager will support and drive the execution of the procurement strategy including the design and implementation of an effective supply chain solution to meet the individual needs of the business unit and the wider organisation.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competences

* An experienced procurement/commercial manager
* Demonstrable experience of leading a procurement/commercial team with responsibility for sub-contracts
* Experienced in leading the deployment of best practice procurement principles/techniques
* Strong commercial acumen, capable of leading contract discussions and imparting knowledge on others
* Able to manage a variety of senior stakeholder groups, often with competing requirements
* Experience in construction/infrastructure (including the use of NEC contracts) is an advantage but not mandatory
* Capable of leading continuous improvement programmes


Qualifications
* Qualified to degree level or equivalent
* MCIPS of equivalent qualification

This role is based at Devonport Royal Dockyard which is located in the vibrant city of Plymouth, Devon in the south west of England. Business Area - Devonport
Babcock International Group owns and operates the main refit, maintenance and workshop area of the 330 acre naval site at Devonport, known as Devonport Royal Dockyard, where it employs thousands of people. The remainder of the site at Devonport is owned by the Ministry of Defence and is known as Her Majesty's Naval Base (HMNB) Devonport - one of the largest naval bases in Western Europe.
