About the role

Here at Babcock International we are looking to recruit a Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist to work on a permanent basis from our regional Headquarters in Ruislip, London.

Babcock's Land Sector spends in excess of £900m per annum on goods and services. Organised into 3 business units this role sits within the newly created Emergency Services and Training business and will principally support our London Fire Brigade contract.

The Procurement and Supply Chain Specialist will be responsible for the successful management of all procurement and supply chain aspects of the London Fire Brigade asset replacement programme. This role will undertake detailed market assessment, manage the development of technical specifications, responsible for transparent sourcing, evaluation and selection processes and finally the delivery and integration phase.

Major Activities / Accountabilities:

  • To be responsible for the effective and efficient management of all LFB fleet Supply Chain needs
  • Responsible for all aspects of the LFB asset replacement project, developing market analysis for future requirements, managing the generation of the technical specs, running the tender process, undertaking evaluation, contracting the solution, managing the delivery and hand over to the operational team
  • Establish Contract / Framework agreements with suppliers
  • Support the delivery of sufficient levels of quality goods and services to sustain operational output within project budget.
  • Undertake sourcing activity and establish framework agreements
  • Select suppliers that are the right size and shape for the business requirement.

What do I need to do the role?


  • MCIPS or working towards
  • 5+ Yrs Procurement Experience
  • Project management capability
  • Supplier management experience
  • IT Literate and good keyboard skills.
  • High excel proficiency
  • Sound knowledge of Procurement and Supply Chain Management processes


  • CIPS preferred; Degree or vocational experience; Full driving licence; Security Cleared (desirable) or ability to attain
