About the role

Here at Babcock International we are looking to recruit a Procurement & Supply Chain Manager to work on a new role based our divisional headquarters at Heathrow Airport.

The position is responsible for providing an excellent Strategic and operational Procurement and Supply Chain service to our engineering contracts at Heathrow. We manage a number of equipment support and maintenance contracts in Baggage Handling, Ground Service Equipment and Projects businesses.

We are looking for a talented and experience Procurement & Supply Chain Manager to undertake the following key accountabilities.

  • Build and deliver a compelling P&SC Strategy for the Airports business in line with the overarching business strategy.
  • Align the strategy with the expectations of the Airports business key suppliers.
  • Build a category / segment based approach to the Airports business supply chain.
  • Become an Subject Matter Expert in the key strategic categories of the Airports Business
  • Deliver category recommendations and activities to the business which significantly improve commercial performance whilst meeting; company's and the customer's objectives, technical and quality performance.
  • Conduct market engagement, tendering, evaluation, negotiation and contract award activities.
  • Support major Bid Development work by providing timely cost estimating, quotations and other supply chain related information.
  • Monitor and report progress against the value plan on a monthly basis.
  • Drive a continual improvement culture in the supply chain through innovation and best practice.

What do I need to do the role?

Technical/Specialist Knowledge:

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, negotiation and interpersonal skills;
  • Current Category Management technical knowledge and experience;
  • Experience of managing Procurement teams with a category focus within FM and O&M environments (desirable)
  • Broad experience leading strategic sourcing projects from conception through to completion communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of identifying and delivering year-on-year procurement savings against targets
  • Experience of developing and obtaining buy-in for procurement strategies with key stakeholders
  • Experience of managing supplier performance and relationships (with multi-million pound spend profiles)
    Commercially astute
  • Based at our Heathrow Site with regular travel to our Leicester business (must hold a driving licence)

Qualifications

  • MCIPS or equivalent professional qualification desirable
