Vacancy - Harrogate - Up to £40,000 - Windows - Linux - SQL


A leading software company is looking to add a "Principal Technical Consultant" to their growing team through a re-structuring period. The Harrogate headquarters is due to become the organisations main hub for IT Support in Europe.

Roles & Responsibilities;

  • Carry out the provision of product Technical Support via telephone and remote connection to customer systems.
  • Identify and investigate any technical problems that should arise.
  • Work closely with team leader and other senior members of staff.
  • Self-teach in new areas and be prepared to pass on existing and new knowledge to other team members.
  • Possess excellent analytic and time management skills.
  • Set a good example to other team members.

Key skills;

  • Strong working knowledge of Windows and Linux servers.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL performance tools.
  • Ability to write and understand SQL scripts.
  • Experience with configuring and administering in a Windows environment including Active Directory.
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP and fundamental networking concepts.

Desirable;

  • Knowledge of iSeries operating system.
  • Experience of maintaining Websphere, Glassfish, Wildfly and JBoss.
  • Experience of web services.
