Right now, we're looking for a Principle Engineer to join our team. Here you will take the lead on the technical and engineering development of district heating schemes, ensuring the delivery of design against budgets. You'll be involved throughout the project lifecycle from initial consultation through to developing concept and detailed designs as well as providing technical support during construction and operation. You'll coordinate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the design of safe, efficient and functional district heating systems. In addition to this you'll also be responsible for the development of design and processes, specifications and procedures to enhance the efficiency of the design team. The district heating market is quickly growing and due to changes in regulation, is rapidly evolving with the implementation of new, low carbon technologies. RESPONISIBILITIES: Manage the estimating and delivery of design against design budgets on multiple projectsResponsible for technical and engineering activities including; calculations, plant choice, systems and drawingsApproval and authorisation of design workApproval and authorisation of standards and specificationsThe development of design and processes, specifications and procedures to enhance the efficiency of the design team.Lead the technical and engineering development of district heating schemesCo-ordinate with the electrical, DHN and city design teamsAuditing of project design documentationESSENTIALDegree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline;Thorough knowledge of UK mechanical regulations and standards;Working knowledge of CAD, AutoCAD, Revit and BIM;Working knowledge of Energy Centre functionality, operation and design;Knowledge of DH (District Heating) network design and operations;DESIRABLEChartered Engineer;Experience of working with pressure system standards and control (PED);Experience of Construction Design and Management Regulations, auditing, and Design Risk assessment;Commercial understanding, cost awareness and business acumen;Success in solving complex problems in a structured and professional way;Demonstrable experience in engineering project management and budgetary responsibility;Understanding of SAP calculation and regulation;Full valid UK/EU driving licence.
