Principal EC&I Engineer

A market leading FTSE 100 organisation is currently recruiting for Principal EC&I Engineers to take on permanent positions ASAP. The company is highly regarded for its employee recognition and vital position in today's market place. You will be a driven individual who is looking to work in a fast paced environment with supportive team in a diverse and challenging environment.

Based in either Irlam or Daresbury, the role will involve working as part of a long term service agreement contract with a nuclear facility to provide CE&I engineering conceptual and detailed design, drawings, modelling, calculations, and technical solutions in the delivery of customer funded tasks and projects.

The main responsibilities of the role are as follows:

Ensuring that procedures, legislation and standards are correctly applied to engineering and technical activities:

  • Producing calculations, analyses, drawings, models, design base documentation and technical reports.
  • Supervising engineers, draughtspersons and technicians for the production of engineering deliverables.
  • Producing and reviewing engineering deliverables
  • Producing and reviewing technical specifications, assessing tender returns and providing technical support to those packages throughout the design, construction, installation, commissioning, operation and decommissioning phases of the project to ensure that the Design Intent is maintained.
  • Carrying out design risk assessments (i.e. COM, Machinery Regulations etc.).
  • Reviewing design changes.
  • Assessing concessions and technical queries.
  • Raising design quality plans for single discipline work packages
  • Ensuring that adequate Checking & Approval is undertaken on all engineering deliverables

The successful candidate will display the following skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Electrical Engineering or Science degree qualified preferred. HND/HNC as a minimum.
  • Member of lET or proactively working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status. Previous nuclear experience preferable.
  • Graduate with experience covering a range of CE&I engineering topics or non-graduate with significant relevant experience. Significant experience of working within the nuclear, petrochemical or pharmaceutical industry or other safety or regulated industry (Desirable)
  • BS7671 17th edition wiring regulations
  • Nuclear industry or other safety or regulated industry experience (Desirable)
  • Eligible for SC Clearance (essential)
