EC&I ENGINEER

Location: Cumbria
Rates: £45.00 - 50.00/hr Ltd or £34.03 - £37.76/hr PAYE
Duration: 6 Months

Role
To lead a team of discipline engineers in the delivery of a technical solution that satisfies the legal and functional requirements along with the associated performance conditions to the agreed time, cost and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies for delivery of the discipline-related components of design, including use of the supply chain.
  • Deliver a safe, fit-for-purpose, fully integrated and operable design solution that meets product requirements, and includes appropriate validation and verification.
  • Manage the generation of fit-for-purpose discipline-related design deliverables that define and preserve the design intent and are organised and align with the plant configuration, as appropriate.
  • Ensure the design solution is able to be manufactured, constructed, commissioned, handed over, put into operation, maintained and decommissioned, and that Life Time Records are delivered.
  • Ensure all discipline-related technical, safety and engineering risks are identified, owned and managed.
  • Define, execute and obtain LFE from the discipline-specific risk based assurance strategy and call appropriate engineering or design capability reviews in a timely manner.
  • Support the PEM in providing engineering design support to work scope definition for other project delivery areas and throughout procurement, construction and commissioning project phases.
  • Develop and deliver work in line with the Project Delivery Fundamentals.
  • Support development of the hazard management strategies, safety case and associated implementation systems and provide pragmatic design substantiation.
  • Ensure solutions meet all discipline-related legal requirements including CDM, safety (including application of the EDSPs), environmental and site licence conditions, and that deliverables and solutions generated are adequately underpinned.



Requirements Management

  • Coordinate discipline-related input to specification of derived product requirements and capabilities, associated conditions, constraints and validation (to evidence needs).
  • Coordinate discipline-related input to product verification planning and evaluation.
