Principal Battery Systems Engineer

£45,000 - £55,000 + Holiday + Benefits

Principal Battery Systems Engineer required to join a market leading automotive company based in Cambridge

As Principal Battery Systems Engineer, you will be primarily responsible for leading technical teams and delivering client projects, Including; providing technical leadership for delivery teams of engineers involved in battery projects and interfacing directly with clients.

The ideal Principal Battery Systems Engineer will be degree qualified in a relevant Engineering or Science Subject, have a working background in the automotive industry, and have two or more years of experience working and leading projects in a controls and electronic environment. You will also be knowledgeable in battery system architectures and battery management systems. It would be beneficial if you have knowledge of Hybrid vehicle systems.

The Role:

* Principal Battery Systems Engineer

* Providing technical leadership for delivery teams of engineers involved in battery projects

* Interfacing directly with clients on technical issues

* Delivering projects on-time and on-budget

* Providing technical support for the design, development and validation of high voltage vehicle battery systems

* Supporting the sales teams through client interaction, proposals and roadmap development

The Person:

* Degree in a relevant Engineering or Science Background

* A background in the Automotive Industry

* 2+ Years' experience leading projects in a controls and electronic environment in either an OEM or a Tier 1 capacity.

* Have knowledge in Battery system architectures and battery management systems

* Have Experience designing high current and automotive high voltage power systems

* Electrical component integration, design & development on production products, particularly HV battery systems and sub systems in a tier 1 or OEM environment

* Flexibility on work location and prepared to travel within the UK and internationally on short assignments
