Principal Architect - Agile, Salesforce, API, High Transactional Web Technologies

Duration: 6 Months

Location: Leeds

What you will do …

To be the senior design authority for the tribes architecture and to represent and communicate the business goals, constraints and risks to the tribe's architecture team, engineering managers, principal engineers and other key delivery team members, so that they can design, build and operate systems and services that support and deliver the tribe's business goals and address the constraints and risks that are present.

Together with the Chief Architect, deliver and communicate an architectural vision and roadmap for the business that is understood and supported by the whole business and that provides clear, achievable principles and direction for the technology team to follow.

To communicate the key facts, risks and assumptions to enable the heads of function in a tribe to understand and make decisions based on the current and target architecture.

Key Responsibilities

Architectural Leadership

  • To lead a team of Architects and provide technical leadership across the tribe's technology team.
  • To keep up-to-date with emerging technologies and architectural approaches and promote alignment between technology and business strategy.
  • To promote continuous improvement and progression within the architecture team.
  • To form effective business relationships; foster an open culture of collaboration and innovation within the architecture team and with other functions.
  • To foster a good balance of autonomy and cross-tribe coordination to deliver flexibility and/or greater efficiency and integration as appropriate.

Enterprise Architecture

  • Awareness of current enterprise level architectural trends and developments within the market, particularly patterns and technologies being used within Sky Betting and Gaming.
  • Provide governance and technical leadership to ensure our solutions are fit for purpose and align with our architectural principals.
  • Work with business stakeholders to help identify business goals and align IT strategy.
  • Collaborate with senior architects within other areas of the business of the business to define our architectural principles, vision, lifecycle and underlying framework.
  • To develop the tribe's technology road map and to gain commitment for architecture initiatives.

Solution Architecture

  • To maintain an in-depth knowledge of the organization's technologies and architectures.
  • Deliver architectural designs and impact assessments to support the delivery of business goals.
  • To maintain a good understanding and awareness of competitors' products and services.
  • Ensure that project documentation captures significant architectural decisions.
  • Identify architectural risks and propose alternatives and solutions.

Data Architecture

  • Develop a roadmap and processes to enable the business to effectively manage and exploit data for business benefit
  • Collaborate with other teams at SB&G to promote the interoperability of data collected across products and technology teams
