The successful Possession Access Planner will be responsible for assisting the Development Managers within the short term planning process of engineering development works within the specific contract. You will work standard office hours while ensuring access and trains plans are agreed with Network Rail within the agreed timescales and liaising with all parties involved.

Main purpose of role:

  • Assist in planning works in line with Network Rail's access planning, processes and procedures.
  • Attend long term access planning meetings to ensure the securing of the company's access needs.
  • Support the preparation of contract programmes as required, ensuring optimisation of access opportunities and efficient use of resources.
  • Ensure all haulage and On Track Machine requirements (incl. ground staff, loads examination, etc) is submitted and secured in accordance with contract programmes from the point of development to completion of site works.
  • Maintain a liaison with the Development teams, Long Term Access and Train Planning Manager and Network Rail, NSC in respect of all haulage planning issues and ensure timely response to all the client's enquiries and instructions within the terms of the contract.

Ideal requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge of track renewal processes, operational railway and associated safety matters
  • On-site experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of Network Rail systems PPS and RNOL
  • Good organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to be decisive regarding strategic issues to ensure safe and cost effective delivery of the works
  • Works well under pressure and sets and achieves high standards
