PMO Project Manager

What will I be accountable for?

  • Developing project definition documentation and support;
  • Establishing project governance;
  • Planning and scheduling all planned activity;
  • Tracking progress against agreed and committed milestones;
  • Reporting progress;
  • Interfacing with external contractors and internal functions;
  • Administering and maintaining project artefacts;
  • Future scenario planning;
  • Owning, improving and documenting project processes.

What skills, experience, and qualifications do I need?

  • Relationship Management: Experience of having established and cultivated relationships with customer groups, having delivered value with them and experience of overcoming delivery challenges;
  • Project Management: Practical experience of having worked in a project environment, possibly delivering activity or as a work-stream lead or as a project manager. This experience will help you to establish a level of credibility with our business' project community and provide the capability to drive our work;
  • People Management: Demonstrable experience of having worked in a matrix management environment;
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe): Experience of working in a SAFe context as both PMO and Enterprise IT deliver their work using this methodology with capability delivered through Program Increment Planning cycles.
  • Business Analysis: Some experience of having gathered requirements, mapped processes or documented current state within a business context;
  • Project Management Office (PMO): Experience of having worked in a PMO and therefore an understanding of the support it offers and the experience to enable you to have immediate impact;
  • Change Management: Experience of having supported the implementation of business change within organisations where you may have used tools like ADKAR to help embed change to deliver benefit realisation.

Our business has utilised the Atlassian suite of tools for many years and they have developed organically with limited co-ordination and control. As our business moves into the next chapter of its development journey the engineering organization requires JIRA/Confluence to meet their needs today and into the future.

Our ideal candidate is someone who has had a technical background, has likely come from a SW development/delivery background where JIRA was vital to success, is detail oriented and passionate about delivering necessary change.

A proven track record in project management is necessary, as is the need to network, multi-task and communicate effectively to deliver results.
