PMO Consultant

Knutsford/Manchester

3 Month Contract

£300p/d

Purpose:

To own and run all aspects of PMO processes in support of a particular IT project, programme or business unit.

Key Accountabilities :

  • Operate, and is necessary establish, processes and controls around below areas of Governance
    • Planning and progress tracking
    • Risk, Issues and Dependency Management
    • Change Control
    • On-boarding and Off-boarding of resources
    • Cost tracking
    • Status reports
  • Act as a key contact for engagement with client stakeholders, with a focus on Program Management and governance standards
  • Make suggestions for improvements to governance processes where appropriate

Facilitate effective project/programme meetings and follow-up actions

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

Essential

  • Experience of working in or leading a PMO function in an IT-driven change environment
  • Understanding of project management lifecycles and governance frameworks
  • Excellent written and spoken communication
  • Competent in use of MS-Office tools (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and MS-Project
  • Competent in all aspects of Risk, Issue and Dependency management processes

Competent in all aspects of Change Control processes.

Desirable

  • Financial Services experience, and retail banking in particular
  • Capability in financial/cost management, including managing budgets & challenging costs.
  • Knowledge of relevant processes, procedures and relevant regulations
  • A recognised project and/or programme management qualification
  • Commercial and regulatory understanding
  • Understanding of the business and positioning within the industry

Degree or equivalent in an appropriate subject or a relevant business qualification / experience.
