PMO

We are actively looking to secure a PMO to join Experis as one of our expert consultants, delivering services to our clients.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage the planning process for the programme, facilitate planning workshops and create plans, budgets and staffing profiles. Work with stakeholders to actively manage day to day activities, ensuring delivery accountability is in place across the initiative
  • Manage Tech & Change talent and resourcing processes and relevant reporting
  • Ensure the initiative's schedule is accurately represented by milestones and maintain the status of those milestones.
  • Support ongoing management and evolution of the Enterprise Backlog and corresponding SI prioritisation processes and relevant day-to-day activities at a portfolio level.
  • Coordinate the reporting process in accordance with business Portfolio Management and governance standards.
  • Manage and coordinate the programme/project governance structure and meetings assisting the programme/project managers and scrum masters in the preparation of materials, minutes and actions
  • Monitor Group Standards and tools compliance and support PMs, Scrum Masters and delivery teams as required. Track remedial actions.
  • Where relevant, pro-actively maintain the portfolio/programme/project RAID log and assist the team in the management and resolution of issues & risks
  • Co-ordinate the creation of programme budgets and manage the tracking and reporting of programme spend.
  • Ensure time recording adhered to by teams and follow up missing time sheets

Stakeholder management, Reporting and Governance

  • Work with stakeholders to actively manage day to day activities, ensuring delivery accountability is in place across the initiative
  • Support the programme/project governance through the management and co-ordination of governance meetings, assisting the programme manager in the preparation and co-ordination of materials, minutes and actions
  • Monitor Group Standards and tools compliance by PMs and delivery teams, perform assessments and track remedial actions
  • Work with the relevant project/programme/feature team, PMs and SMs to create and track programme budget, ensuring a strong focus on financial governance, working closely with Finance to ensure that actual costs are in line with agreed budgets and that variances are resolved
  • Create, maintain and report on a robust set of agile delivery metrics including lead time, flow efficiency, cycle time, code quality, WiP, Burnups/downs, Cumulative Flow Diagrams and others.
  • Support teams in maintaining resource forecasts and staffing profiles, maintain resource plans and manage the on-boarding process

Essential Skills

  • Strong analysis skills
  • Solid knowledge of waterfall project management methodologies and agile delivery methods
  • Understanding of risk management & regulatory demands;
  • Good financial management experience and understanding of delivery governance.
  • Ability to network and influence others and work with senior stakeholders
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to build strong relationships;
  • Understanding of Agile delivery pipeline and typical agile metrics
  • Knowledge of modern work/delivery management tools (e.g. Jira, Agile Central) and portfolio management tools (e.g. Navigator)
  • Collaborative style with ability to quickly build trust/credibility

Desirable Skills

  • Experienced PMO with a demonstrable track record working on financial services initiatives
  • In-depth knowledge of project office and project management function
  • Broad financial services experience
  • Experience of managing change in complex environment;
  • Ability to juggle priorities, multi- task and flawlessly execute at speed
