I am recruiting a Platform Manager to work for a market leading engineering company that undertakes critical engineering work worldwide. This role functions within their Marine Division, which provides vital engineering services to key clients, such as the Royal Navy.

You would project manage and plan through-life, the support delivered to the vessels under the Platform Manager responsibility. This would include compiling, reconciling and assisting in estimating work packages, including rectification tasks. In addition, liaising with internal and external Stakeholders to insure the relevant flow of information for the through-life maintenance activities across the class.

Responsibilities:

  • To achieve the through-life management objectives, liaising with the Maintenance Engineer, platform and stakeholder management of all interested parties.
  • Scheduling the planned maintenance period activities in accordance with the current Platform Support Plan. Managing and keeping the Platform Support Plan up to date and any meetings supporting this.
  • Defining the scope of maintenance activities and work packages.
  • Define and manage the support schedule (timeline) and platform availability risks using mandated toolset and processes.
  • Planning, managing the associated interfaces and accepting of all fleet time maintenance work.
  • To work with the Maintenance Engineer to ensure that monthly demand planning activities are complete.
  • Act as single point of contact for their respective platform.
  • Regularly visiting platforms when alongside to encourage joint working with ships staff, to understand the platform material state and support issues and encourage a continued sense-of-ownership amongst ship's staff.
  • Compile End-of- Support Period reports, refining maintenance requirement and coordinating platform inputs so that Material State Portfolios for each ship can be maintained.
  • Working collaboratively with the Maintenance Engineer, recommend changes to the Maintenance/Material State Engineer to update data to reflect resource requirements for maintenance activities.
  • Identifying system application shortcomings, amendments and improvements to the Maintenance Manager so that data and software issues are resolved.
  • Provide Management information as required (e.g. CAPA Review, Visboards, weekly reports).
  • Understand the platform material state and support issues. This includes identifying and collecting data (OEM surveys & reports, SS / SEA correspondence, records of inspections, etc.).



Ideal Requirements:

  • HNC in a technical engineering discipline.
  • Project management experience.
  • Stakeholder management experience.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Resilient under pressure.
