My client, an international IT consultancy based in Birmingham, is currently seeking an experienced Payroll Coordinator to join their finance team on a 12 month contract. You will be tasked with coordinating and administering all payroll data on behalf of the business for all employees and to provide a customer focused service.
You should ideally be immediately available or on a maximum of 2 weeks' notice, and be happy to work via an umbrella or limited company.

Key Responsibilities

· Responsible for all aspects of payroll from starter to leaver
· Maintain business payroll system
· Administer change of terms and conditions, salary increase and personal data changes
· Collate and enter absence data to correctly calculate SSP, SMP, OSP etc
· Effectively deal with enquiries from employees regarding payroll matters
· Ability to issue ad hoc letters
· Deal with payroll data , bank details, Ni numbers etc
· Action and input all legislative documents for payroll - P6, P45, P46, court orders, tax credits, student loans etc
· Ensure filing is up to date
· Advise managers and employees on deductions and overpayments
· Ability to complete all requests for data such as mortgage requests, DSS enquiries
· Ensure close working with and providing support to teams directly linked to payroll

Essential Skills

· Knowledge of payroll administration procedures
· Knowledge of statutory rules around payroll (tax/NI etc)
· Excellent interpersonal skills
· High levels of numeracy and literacy with excellent communication skills
· PC Literate with good experience of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
· Ability to meet deadlines and work unsupervised
· Positive approach to customer service
· Experience of team working
· Be proactive in service delivery and show improvements to systems
