Packing Operator - Holmes Chapel - 3 Months - £12.31 P/H

The work location is based in Holmes Chapel on a 3 month contact duration.

Pay rate is between £12.31 Per Hour


Packing Operations

  • Utilise manual and / or automated processes
  • Operate individual pieces of packing equipment
  • Perform routine batch change activities
  • Perform In-Process Checks (IPC) during packing operations
  • Perform routine cleaning


  • Operate to cGMP standards
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures
  • Use Geode to issue batch documentation
  • Complete batch documentation to cGMP
  • Use BPCS to confirm status of materials
  • Use Maximo system to report and ensure equipment is fit for purpose


  • Support Area Work Place Inspections (WPI)
  • Support Area HSE audits
  • Support Manufacturing Risk Assessments (MRA) in the area
  • Operate to HSE Standards
  • Perform regular safety checks on equipment

Continuous Improvement

  • Active participation in continuous improvement activities
  • Challenge existing ways of working to recommend and where agreed implement improvements using LEAN tools

Stock Movement

  • Movement and accountability of product & components on line
  • Movement of inspected / packed material off line


  • Proactively communicate within the operational teams to achieve the manufacturing and packing objectives
  • Communicate with interdepartmental teams to ensure the smooth running of the business


Main Purpose of Job

  • To pack final pharmaceutical product to cGMP and HSE standards
  • Ensure 100% Customer Service is achieved

Position in Organisation

  • Reports directly to Shift Leader
  • No direct reports

Scope of Job

  • Pack Finished Pharmaceutical products
  • Operation of Packing equipment
  • Complete cGMP documentation
  • Stock Movement

Dimensions and Limits Of Authority

  • During packing operations if any compliance and / or out of specification issues arise, raise with shift manager if basic fault-finding investigations cannot identify the root cause
  • No authority to commit expenditure


  • Minimum of 2 GCSE's in English and Maths and meets the required standard in the company selected aptitude tests
  • Works well within an team structure and has the ability to adapt to and deal with change


  • No previous experience necessary, on job training provided
  • Up to 6 months learning period necessary for Dispensing Activities
