Operational Occupational Health & Safety Manager (EMEIA)


Role Purpose
To ensure that employees and the company are protected from health and safety risks within the EMEIA region.

Key Accountabilities

  • To assist with the development of all Fujitsu H&S processes and procedures to ensure they are fully compliant to National legislation, regulations and standards, OHSAS 18001 / 45001 accreditations and corporate system requirements;
  • Ensure a good knowledge of all current UK legislation and codes of practice, whilst keeping up to date with new legislation and any developments;
  • Develop a wider knowledge of legislation and best practice standards for other countries within the EMEIA region (Europe, Middle East, India, Africa);
  • Provide competent advice and support relating to operational activities within the EMEIA region ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company standards;
  • Provide competent advice and support to other in-country OH&S Managers and operational managers in the development and implementation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAM's) ensuring all hazards are accounted for and adequate operational controls are adequate;
  • Where applicable to projects ensure the requirements of the Construction Regulations (CDM 2015 or in-country equivalent) are implemented specifically to the role or roles being undertaken by Fujitsu i.e. Principal Designer, Principal Contractor, Designer and Contractor
  • Implement / conduct suitable internal monitoring programmes to enable non-conformances to be identified;
  • Lead and provide support to suitable compliance audit programs ensuring that internal audits are completed that will support and enable the successful completion of external audits such as OHSAS 18001 / 45001, Achilles, Safe Contractor, CHAS etc.;
  • Ensure and validate competencies and training at project level ensuring company, client and legal standards are implemented and maintained at all times.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Hold a Health & Safety Diploma level qualification
  • IOSH membership - Hold Grad IOSH status and is progressing toward CMIOSH (or an equivalent Membership of another relevant professional body)
  • Able and willing to undergo UK and other country security clearance requirements
  • Must hold a full clean driving licence and able to travel including to other countries
  • OHSAS 18001 / 45001 Lead Auditor
  • Good understanding of Environmental issues and Regulations
  • Working knowledge of the construction environment
  • Experience of carrying out compliance auditing.
  • Management and monitoring of contractors experience essential
  • Good networking and presentation skills
  • Can work independently and to tight dead lines
