Do you have the knowledge of developing Nuclear Training for large organisations?

We have received a new contract vacancy from our client for someone to support the analysis, design and development of Nuclear Training Material to support key business priorities and programmes of work.

Their Organisational Capability Team is responsible for ensuring that arrangements for Nuclear Training, Organisational Appointments and Management of Organisational Change are robust, adequately articulated in DRDL's Business Management System and are effectively implemented within Devonport's nuclear submarine support activities.

Main Purpose of Role

Whilst you will report to OCT Management, you will be expected to be self-motivated, and able to develop/modify programmes of work to ensure effective delivery.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competences

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) practitioner/ Training Development Manager with experience of working in the submarine enterprise, or a similar nuclear environment.
  • Hold or able to attain SC Security Clearance.
  • Experience of conducting Job Competency Analysis is essential.
  • Proven experience of conducting training analysis, design and development in complex, nuclear or high-hazard industry environments.
  • Excellent communication skills to enable effective communication with all levels of DRDL's business.
  • Experience of working within the nuclear submarine support environment at Devonport or elsewhere is desirable.
  • Experience in the management of processes and adhering to governance structures in a regulatory environment.


  • Recognised qualifications in an appropriate Technical or Management Discipline or demonstrably equivalent experience
  • Nuclear Plant Foundation Course Module 1 (or equivalent from another Nuclear Sector)


  • CIPD Level 3 Learning & Development Level 3 or equivalent
  • Nuclear Plant Foundation Course Module 1 (or equivalent from another Nuclear Sector)
  • Nuclear Fundamentals (Foundation) Course Module 2
