Network Management Tools Engineer/Enterprise Management and Monitoring SME: (Cisco, Checkpoint, Fortinet, Aruba, BAROC File Writing, SNMP, MIBS, OID, CDP, OSPF, Prolog, Perl, Powershell, SOAP, SQL, Oracle, ETL)

The work location is in Telford and is a 3-6 month contract offering a daily rate between £400-£450 per day.

Role Responsibilities:

  • The Network Operations Centre consists of highly skilled network technicians and engineers responsible for all aspects of support for a complex central government network.
  • The main responsibility of a NOC Tools Engineer is to provide 1st and 2nd line support on incidents, faults and problems that arise within the NOC Tools. The engineer will be responsible for investigating, troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving incidents whilst liaising with internal technical consumers, third parties and service management.
  • Sound core NOC tooling skills are an essential requirement for the role and this particular role is looking for an individual with especially strong skills in event management tools, scripting, SNMP / OID and Automation.

Must Have Essential Key skills & Background:

  • Networking experience working with Cisco, Checkpoint, Fortinet and Aruba.
  • Experience in Rule and BAROC file Writing, Log File Adapters
  • Experience in SNMP/MIBS/OID/CDP/OSPF
  • Skills in scripting (prolog, perl, powershell, SOAP, XML, XSLT)
  • Database Skills (SQL, MySQL, Oracle)
  • CMDB and ETL
  • Orchestration and Automation
  • Knowledge of Assyst, Skybox and Riverbed would be advantageous
  • Skills in BMC Tools are highly desirable in particular BPPM, Entuity, BNA (BladeLogic), Atrium Orchestrator, Atrium, Remedy. However Individuals with vendor equivalent skills in IBM Tivoli TEC, Microsoft System Center, IBM Tivoli TEC, HP, CA are also welcome to apply.
  • An understanding and exposure to working to ITIL methodologies.
