Rate: 400pd

Malvern

My Client has an exciting new opportunity for a Network Engineer to join the team in Malvern for an initial 6 month project. This will be a great opportunity to put your current skills to the test!

Job Description

  • As a team member within the Networks Team the candidate will be required to assist in the development of, and support for, end to end IP network solutions.
  • Assisting with the technical delivery of the solution from high level design to delivery and transition to service
  • Working to help deliver network solutions, taking high level design documents and delivering solution
  • Supporting proposal development by assisting with translating customer requirements into high level design documents.
  • Ensuring work is delivered to technical assurance standards.

Skills and knowledge

Essential:

  • Configuration and troubleshooting of IP networks and related hardware/software.
  • Providing network support to customers and users.
  • Experience of IT integration, and systems engineering principals.
  • Network engineering in a secured networking environment.
  • Knowledge of leading commercial router devices, switches etc (e.g. CISCO) and their operating systems.
  • Knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of crypto devices.
  • IP encryption.
  • Cisco qualified or equivalent.
  • Windows Server operating systems experience.
  • Experience with virtualised environments.
  • Use of logging / monitoring systems.
  • Knowledge of JSP 604, 440.

Person Specification:

  • Degree in a science, engineering or maths subject or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Innovative self-starter able to show initiative, and work within teams.
  • Picking up complex, high risk projects and tasks and offering solutions to problems.
  • Good written and verbal skills.
  • Strong risk awareness & quality conscious.
  • Able to follow complex processes and procedures.
  • Work to required security rules.
  • Be willing to travel, work away from site.
