Network Engineer


6 month initial contract opportunity

Max pay of £460.00 p/d

Our client is currently on the hunt for 2 Network Engineers to be based in Telford on an initial 6 month contract. SC clearance is desirable however eligible candidate applications are accepted also.

You will be working within a secure network environment alongside other Network Engineers in order to provide consultancy, create designs and carry out Implementation activities as part of major project deliveries. Work closely with project Teams on a variety of projects taking information from initial customer Proposals/specifications and turning them into completed design documentation.

Implement configuration changes across different types of network devices deployed across an enterprise estate based on approved design/change documentation.


Design Skills

  • General understanding of networking (subnetting)
  • Able to carry out discovery work with a solid understanding of large corporate office estate/environment
  • IPAM and IP address reservation

Aruba Skills

  • Aruba Core & Access switches (build device using Perle/SSH)
  • Aruba Wireless LAN Controllers (build device using Perle/SSH/HTTPS)
  • Aruba wireless knowledge (HA/VRRP/port security & hardening)
  • Troubleshooting all the above devices during install from cabling/build perspective

Large Office Infrastructure Experience

  • Knowledge of unique static routes being used within office environment
  • Knowledge of interconnecting core devices (moving of SVI's/Layer 3 interfaces)
  • Knowledge and experience working with Cisco switches (to perform comparison checks between Cisco/Aruba switch configs)
  • Troubleshooting all the above devices during migration from switching & routing perspective
  • Knowledge of deploying config for devices affected based on outcome of any troubleshooting undertaken
  • Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot workstation connectivity issues (DHCP/VLAN)
  • Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot office telephony issues (VoIP/NTP)
