A Network Engineer is required by a prestigious organisation in their Farnborough offices.

As the Network Engineer you will joining a dedicated team providing 2nd/3rd line network support and project delivery. You will be part of a busy challenging Network Operations team, responsible for the day to day support, security, monitoring, management and enhancements to the corporate WAN / LAN / Voice networks within the UK and abroad.

You will be troubleshooting and resolving both customer and infrastructure issues that arise using monitoring and logging tools available to them. Maintaining and enhancing the systems.
Some out of hours work and on-call is required at times to maintain and minimise the risk of outages to business systems.

Essential Skills for the Network Engineer:

  • Be eligible for or hold SC clearance
  • Proven and in-depth experience and knowledge with at least 3 years' experience in the Network discipline.
  • CCNA or equivalent experience
  • Experience in delivering Network Security technology support or project delivery, with experience in Firewalls and ideally threat and vulnerability assessment.
  • Experience with Firewalls namely Cisco ASA 55xx-X and Juniper ScreenOS (NSRP/Failover, VPN, NAT)
  • Routing and switching knowledge, experience on devices such as 2960, 3800, 4500, 6500 switches
  • Previous data network background with experience of IP networks and related WAN/LAN technologies including, but not limited to TCP/IP, BGP, and OSPF.
  • Upgrading and enhancing systems, patching , configuration etc.BGP routing protocol.
  • Network Security concepts
