Role:

To define and set up customer deliverable server operating systems and software ensuring a secure and high reliability system that meets requirement.

Responsibilities:

* Work in accordance with the lead engineer, project plan and architecture requirements to configure a variety of operating systems and platforms, including networking, virtualisation and secure lockdown.
* To maintain configuration control of all build, configuration and release activities and create baselines at appropriate stages.
* To manage network system interfaces and maintain Interface Requirement, Definition and Control documentation.
* To provide the technical interface for sub-contractor I customer interaction as designated by the project Lead Engineer.
* To review and contribute to Network design documentation already in place for the Project.
* To develop a detailed technical plan and associated documentation for designing and implementing security lockdown for the network
* To conduct Integration, Test, Evaluation & Acceptance (ITEA) activities as designated within the project delivery lifecycle.

Required Experience / Qualifications / Attributes:


Qualification:
* CCNP- Routing and Switching (required);
* CCNP- Security (optional).

Experience (3-4yrs):
* Full Engineering Lifecycle;
* Knowledge and Experience of MPLS;
* Knowledge and Experience of QoS;
* Knowledge and Experience of Multicast Routing;
* Knowledge and Experience of BGP;
* Knowledge and Experience of Networking within a Hyper-V environment;
* Design & Implementation of Networks with Multiple sites over a wide area;
* Design & Implementation of Secure lockdowns for network systems (preferred MoD lockdown experience);
* Design & Implementation of Network QoS;
* Designing Networks for Resilience;
* Defining Interfaces for integrating new networks into existing networked environments;
* Production of high quality network design, definition and configuration documentation;
* Appreciation of the need to adhere to the constraints of working to a set of defined requirements and project budget I schedule when carrying out and defining design solutions;
* Ability to carry out technical analysis and produce high quality engineering documentation;
* Able to readily adapt to change within a system engineering I project lifecycle;
* TCP/IP networking, switching/routing and firewall configuration experience;
* A good understanding of industry best practice tools and processes;
* A proven ability to investigate and problem solve.

* High command of verbal and written English;
* Good organisational skills with the ability to set and meet personal and team deadlines;
* Good communication skills;
* Ability to successfully work under tight project deadlines.

DST Required Experience /Qualification /Attributes

  • Experience of project management in an engineering environment, in particular able to demonstrate strong scope management skills; * Experience of project management in an engineering analysis environment would be advantageous but not a necessity; * Can demonstrate strong stakeholder management skills; * Experience of driving achievement of milestones and can encourage and challenge the team towards success; * Ideally hold a Project Management Qualification (e.g. APMP, PMI) and have 5 years operational delivery experience; * MS Project 2010 / Primavera P6.2.1 or higher user; * Strong skills with standard MS Office software, particularly Excel.
