A world leading pharmaceutical manufacturing company who are supporting companies in taking their products from early development through to commercial manufacturing. Working closely with external clients throughout the entire product life-cycle to deliver innovative solutions.

The Role

  • To optimise the operation of production and site services assets (and ancillary equipment) with technical intervention / support as required, ensuring compliance to schedule, documentation, safety and GMP.
  • Coordinate the planning of work within the engineering team
  • Provide a professional engineering maintenance and repair service to the assets and fabric of the site
  • Undertake planned preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance, repair activities and inspection routines on facilities and equipment as required
  • To improve the operation of site services plant and equipment through the application of problem solving and continuous improvement techniques and liaison with original machine and packaging suppliers
  • Maintain familiarity with pharmaceutical systems such as change control, validation and EHS procedures to ensure compliance with company and industry requirements.
  • Completion of cGMP documentation (e.g. log books, cleaning records) as required


  • Nationally recognised Apprenticeship, or equivalent in an Engineering discipline
  • NVQ level 3 in a secondary engineering discipline or completion of the site Modern Working Practices Programme.
  • Computer literacy for site systems
  • 5 yrs experience post apprenticeship in an engineering environment within the pharmaceutical or related industry is desirable
  • Strong team player with open communication style, the ability to direct and train operators, apprentices, suppliers and tradesmen if and when required
