Role Activities:

  • Delivery of theory and practical based lessons in aircraft electronics.
  • Supervise and assist in the construction and testing of electronic circuits to support theory lessons and generate evidence for PEO L2 Units.
  • Assess completed work and knowledge questions IAW City & Guilds standards

OR

  • Delivery of Level 3 Military Aviation Maths and Science to Engineering Technician Standard
  • Devise assessment strategies and Final Assessment Papers for Level 3 Aviation Maths and Science
  • Deliver and assess Functional Skills Maths and English at Level 2

Experience & Knowledge

  • On-aircraft aeronautical trade experience.
  • An Electrical/electronic background covering the following: Transformers, filters and IC's, Servomechanisms, AC Circuits theory and AC/DC Motors and Generators.

OR

  • Experience of delivery of maths and science knowledge in a military aviation context to allow further study of aircraft maintenance practices to include the following:
  • Arithmetical techniques to solve engineering problems and manipulation of SI, Imperial and US customary units.
  • Use algebra to solve mathematical engineering problems and be able to solve simple engineering problems and interpolate engineering data.
  • Solve mathematical engineering problems using trigonometrical techniques and solve mathematical engineering problems involving area and volume.
  • Understand the nature of matter and the principles of 'Statics' in relation to aircraft loadings, buoyancy and hydro-static pressure. Understand how the principles of motion relate to aircraft.

Skills / Competencies

Must have:

  • A Level 3, or above, Aeronautical Avionic Engineering Qualification
  • Recognised teaching qualification

Ideally would have:

  • A1 Assessor qualification
  • Cert Ed or PGCE
  • Course design experience

OR

Must have:

  • A Level, or above, in Maths and Science
  • GCSE in English
  • Recognised teaching qualification

Ideally would have:

  • A1 Assessor qualification
  • Cert Ed, PGCE or higher
  • Course design experience
