Parts Technician

Location - Ruislip, London

My client is one of the largest providers of support services to the emergency services sector. They manage vehicles, equipment and facilities on behalf of the London Fire Brigade, Metropolitan Police Service, New Dimension, Highways Agency and Associated British Ports, managing vehicles, equipment, facilities and training. We deliver value for money solutions via a proven approach that enables us to optimise assets and increase availability, while providing a complete and resilient service.

We are now actively recruiting for a Parts Technicians to help with the identification of Parts for all LFB Assets requiring repair by my client's Technicians and Others.


  • To provide excellent Customer Service to ALL internal customers
  • To receive and action orders for parts ensuring procedures and paperwork are followed according to current system.
  • To stock items so that they are maintained at the correct level and that re-ordering is undertaken in a timely manner using the relevant computerised systems.
  • To stock items so that they are kept in a good condition and are readily available for issue.
  • To authorise the purchase of parts on orders.
  • To maintain high standards of housekeeping, maintaining a safe working environment
  • To ensure that all surcharge and warranty items are returned and correctly accounted for.
  • To assist in stock takes as and when required.
  • To minimise the build-up of redundant stock.
  • To attend and participate in training courses as and when required
  • To ensure that the parts department and workstations are kept clean and tidy at all times.
  • To ensure all paperwork, documentation and requisitions are properly signed for.
  • To Report any discrepancies to line Manager
  • To maintain a clear and up to date ordering system ensuring that all outstanding orders are followed up and closed in a timely manner.
  • Use talent and ability to encourage achievement and continuous improvement.
  • To demonstrate safety, integrity & commitment at all times.
  • Maintain excellent levels of communication throughout the team and the wider business.
  • To carry out any other duties as and when necessary to meet the varying demands of the business and satisfy customer needs.


  • Computer Literate
  • Pro-Active, Organised and Methodical
  • Ability to Work in a Pressurised Environment and be able to Multi Task
  • Good Customer Service Ethos
  • Work well within a Team.
  • Practical Knowledge of Motor Vehicles
  • Part's Department System (EPC's)


Working hours are Monday to Friday with 1 Saturday shift a month consisting of 1 week early (06:00 - 14:30), 2 weeks middle (08:00 - 16:30) and 1 week late (13:30 - 22:00).
