Role: Methodology & Quality Assurance Manager
Duration: 12 Months

As Methodology and Quality Assurance Manager you will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining Group Internal Audit's (GIA) audit methodology and working practices and developing and delivering a dynamic approach to quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities

* Responsible for enhancing and maintaining GIAs audit methodology and working practices, including responding to ad-hoc queries and requests from the team for guidance;
* Development and delivering of a dynamic approach to quality assurance including input into design and best practice, oversight of the live QA process and performance of deep dive file reviews;
* Facilitation of Weekly LT Review process including the oversight of expected Deliverables / meeting agendas / submission of papers, review of all papers and feedback from Methodology and independent reviewer perspective and facilitation and write-up of meeting outputs and own feedback;
* Completion GIA's Annual Effectiveness Assessment, Control Self-Assessment, balance scorecards and ad-hoc due diligence requests;
* Responsible for the oversight, selection and monitoring of GIA's verification and overdue issue process;
* Responsible for the annual review and update to the Internal Audit Charter;
* Bi-monthly attendance at the IIA professional practices forum and feedback of insight to the function;
* Responsible for performing methodology inductions to new stars including a walkthrough of the audit team structure and position in the company, the role of the Ops Team, the IIA Standards & IIA Code, the GIA Charter, and GIA Methodology;
* Performance manage aligned staff, ensuring quality conversations are held to set objectives and provide honest feedback to drive performance and develop talent within the portfolio;
* Responsible for collaborating with other GIA portfolios and Risk and Control functions to ensure a coordinated, consistent approach to risk management is adopted;
* Responsible for coaching and supporting colleagues across the wider business on risk and control matters as part of knowledge sharing;
* Responsible for role modelling GIA's vision, culture, strategy and plan in line with organisational goals & delivering difficult messages to the business when required; and
* Input to development and support to deliver strategy (including putting customer needs at the heart of everything we do) through audit planning and ELT ensuring the focus of IA's work is on the highest risk areas. Resolve risks and issues, only escalating complex ones. Champion and support strategic change by embracing initiatives.

Key Requirements

* Educated to degree level with a relevant professional qualification or experience (e.g. accounting, audit, risk)
* Experience of working in internal audit methodology and quality assurance roles
* In-depth understanding of IIA standards and working practices
* Excellent written and oral communication skills in 1:1 and group environment
* Proven relationship management skills, with a track record of engaging and influencing key stakeholders
* Experience of managing and developing the performance of individuals / teams
* Demonstrable ability to adapt and deliver in a fast-moving commercial environment
* Ability to see connections and to position information in a strategic context
