Medical Affairs Advisor


Contract until end of 2020 initially

F/T but can offer flexibility for P/T

A multinational pharmaceutical and life sciences company are currently seeking a Medical advisor to join their team on an interim basis.

Key tasks:

  • To provide a copy-approval service for the clients promotional materials to enable Marketing/Sales to promote our products whilst complying with all relevant Codes of Practice and legislation by reviewing, assessing and approving items.
  • To contribute to a scientific support service for the UK business in order to support Marketing/Sales/Business Development/Regulatory product life-cycle activities, including new product development, by the provision of medical and technical advice.

Qualification & Competencies:

  • To have a thorough understanding of legislation and guidelines relevant to the clients Consumer portfolio, including the PAGB Codes of Practice, the ABPI Code of Practice, MHRA guidelines for the advertising and promotion of medicines in the UK, UK Medicines Law, EU Directives (including for Foods and Medical devices), CAP and BCAP Codes, Advertising Standards Agency guidelines.
  • Ideally, previous experience/knowledge of Client brands, their ingredients, competitors and disease areas in order to allow the business to promote our products in a compliant manner.
  • A life science or pharmacy degree
  • Ability to communicate information clearly and logically, both orally and in written form
  • Must have an exceptional eye for detail
  • 2-5 years relevant experience in Scientific/Medical Affairs, preferably within an OTC environment
  • Well developed interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Computer literacy
  • Proactive mindset and a making-things-happen attitude
  • Handles most project work on own initiatives, referring to manager where particular medical expertise or legal input is required
