Mechanical Engineer

Up to £32,500 per annum

£3,000 incentive bonus

Travel Allowances

37 hrs/wk, Mon-Fri

Permanent, Full-time

Based in Dungeness, Kent

I am recruiting an experienced Mechanical Engineer to work with a FTSE 100 Specialist Nuclear Services Organisation based at Dungeness Nuclear Power Station. The role holder can be based across the UK due to travel allowances being offered.

The primary focus of this role will be to facilitate engineering scoping of projects and identification of solutions to problem areas.

This position would suit a motivated individual that is capable of working both as a team and autonomously. The role will involve working with a team of engineers and technicians in the completion of cradle to grave installations and modifications to plant and systems.


  • Site surveying and scope identification
  • Requirements capture and optioneering
  • Generation of health, safety and quality documentation
  • Production of specifications
  • Creation of work packs including method statements & risk assessments
  • Maintaining safety all in works undertaken in line with regulatory and compliance policies.
  • Engineering drawings utilising AutoCAD
  • Fault finding, testing and commissioning of plant
  • Undertake and supervise mechanical installations
  • Identifying issues/improvements/recommendations to plant and equipment
  • Working at height, in confined spaces and within radiological controlled areas.

Required Experience / Qualifications:

  • HND in relevant discipline / Degree in relevant discipline beneficial
  • Demonstrative experience of previous work
  • Engineering experience
  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • CCNSG safety passport
  • CTC Security Clearance will need to be obtained
  • Ability to work in a heavily regulated, Safety Critical Environment
