Mechanical Design Engineer for Electronics Packaging Location: Cheltenham Job Type: Permanent, Full Time Due to exciting new projects and increased demand for existing products, we are currently recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer at a world-leading Engineering company. The company is listed on the FTSE250 and works in the aviation industry. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with mechanical design experience to join and bring their technical leadership skills to the team. Specifically, the role will be designing mechanical enclosures for electronics parts for the civil and military avionics division. You will be responsible for - · Providing mechanical design leadership and structural analysis support to product design · Solve problems, develop solutions and create objectives for the team · Interpreting requirements and specifications to create designs and conduct structural analysis on electronic enclosures · Carry out any necessary tests and review designs if necessary · Report status and progress of work You will have the following- · Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar · Experience in an engineering analysis role, specifically structural analysis of lightweight structures · Experience with ANSYS or similar · Strong knowledge of MS Office software · In depth knowledge of the product development lifecycle · Excellent problem solving skills · Experience of presenting designs · Experience of Siemens NX would be desirable · Experience in the physical design of electronic equipment would be desirable · Experience in aerospace/avionics would be desirable · Ability to obtain BPSS clearance · Leadership experience will be advantageous You will be joining a company who produce parts of the highest standard and as such look for people of the highest calibre.
