I am recruiting a Marine Systems Support Engineer to work on a project on behalf of a FTSE 100 and global market leading engineering company that undertakes critical engineering work worldwide.

You will be working in a team of like minded Support Engineers and will be responsible for providing Marine System technical assistance for Queen Elizabeth and Type 45 Class Marine System technical reactive engineering demands. This will include the provision of technical assistance and advice or escalating a technical query or issue deeper into the Systems Technical Authority.

Main purpose of role:

  • Provide marine system technical assistance in support of reactive engineering demands for QEC and Type 45 Class Marine System.
  • Evaluate reactive engineering technical issues and, through the application of systems engineering principles, make technical recommendations.
  • Provide technical advice including developed action plans aligned to engineering governance and delegations.
  • Carry out technical investigations and analyses, including evaluation and selection of technical options, preparing reports with recommended courses of action.
  • Provide management information as required.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements to the service and improvements to the marine systems design baseline.
  • Comply with the company safety rules and regulations or local procedures and any company initiatives to improve safety.

Ideal requirements:

  • HNC Engineering or professionally registered to EngTech.
  • Experience in Operating, Maintaining, Diagnosing and Repairing (ODMR) complex warships is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to work in a collaborative manner across a multi-disciplinary team.
