MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

Rate: Upto £45.00/hr ltd

Location: Warrington

Duration: 12 months

Our client is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer, based in Warrington, who has experience of setting up new lines of manufacture for the next phase of a project.

Ideally, you will have experience of producing mechanical design deliverables for Mechanical Handling Equipment, Special Purpose Machinery and Lifting Equipment etc.

You should be comfortable with the following:

  • Able to take responsibility for delivery of mechanical work package to programme, budget and required quality.
  • Effective utilisation of mechanical design resources required to support the Project Mangers in meeting their Project programme work packages and provide reporting information to the Project Manager.
  • Ensure appropriate engineering standards are used and that engineering solutions are fit for purpose and achievable.
  • Able to, or has experience in, establishing relationships with SMEs.
  • Demonstrable competence working on other manufacturing projects.
  • Used to working within management systems.
  • Capable of making sound decisions based on available information protecting the interests of SL and the Programme.
  • Understand the significance of the project, the safety implications and the application of ALARP principles in their decision making.
  • Good communication skills to negotiate responses and manage interfaces between internal stakeholders and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to understand and translate the complex issues to differing audiences.

You must have the ability to show:

  • Previous track record of delivery to client targets.
  • Experience of providing accurate and understandable progress updates
  • Ability to anticipate and resolve issues

Technical needs to be a success in the role include:

  • Understanding of manufacturing issues for a volume product.
  • Awareness of Geometric Product Specification (ISO GPS) (BS 8888, 8015 etc.) and its application.
  • Awareness of modern manufacturing processes incl. machining, welding and metrology.
  • Understanding of stainless materials, ideally duplex materials.

You will be flexible in being able to travel to different locations to speak with various suppliers.
