Manual Tester

Location: West London

We are actively looking to secure a Manual Tester to join Experis as one of our expert consultants, delivering services to our clients.

Role description:

Our client is a multi-billion pound, FTSE 100 company that provides satellite broadcasting, broadband and telephone services to over 20 million customers. It has a sustained track record of innovation in both marketing and technical aspects of the broadcast industries.

Their refreshing and imaginative approach has changed the face of UK television, making them one of the world's largest broadcasters. Currently they are driving ambitious plans for growth as they pioneer new thinking and radical developments across the business.

The Manual Tester will be part of the Test team, working on a variety of next-generation products. Opportunities will be challenging and interesting with exposure to new technologies. You will be testing the interface across multiple devices to create consistency.

Essential skills:

  • Experience of PC, Mac, Android, and iOS application testing
  • Flexible and able to work well in a team
  • Professional attitude and a consistently strong work ethic
  • Ability to communicate complex scenarios clearly and concisely
  • Problem-solving mindset and a desire to help everyone achieve more
  • Methodical with a keen eye for detail
  • Strong written and spoken English
  • Good understanding of the software development lifecycle
  • Interest in testing and quality assurance

Desirable skills:

  • Use of defect management software (e.g. JIRA, Bugzilla)
  • Use of test management software (e.g. HP QualityCenter)
  • Use of testing tools (e.g. Charles, Wireshark)
  • Software development/scripting experience, including basic Linux command knowledge
  • Solid understanding of different network devices such as routers, switches and hubs
  • Use of collaboration software (e.g. Wiki/Confluence)
