A Government-backed, FCA-regulated not-for-profit is currently recruiting a Management Accountant to business partner Business Heads and the Executive Leadership Team. This role will suit a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 1-3 years post qualified, industry experience in a management accounts position. Experience within an FCA regulated business would be beneficial but is not required.

The main responsibilities include (but will not be limited to);

  • Preparing monthly management accounts and business partner teams to support monitoring and controlling team budgets, and helping them to make informed financial decisions.
  • Working closely with the planning and change team to produce reports. This involves working business partnering to ensure they capture expenditure.
  • Work collaboratively with corporate services colleagues particularly Commercial to deliver a joined-up customer service.
  • Work with business heads to provide meaningful commentary for the management accounts and other financial reports.
  • Preparing accruals and prepayment schedules in conjunction with teams across the organisation.
  • Income analysis and deferred income calculation.
  • Manage online staff expense system (Concur).
  • Support the preparation of the annual review and financial statements.
  • Support the preparation of the annual business plan submission to the FCA.
  • Support with quarterly reforecast.
  • Responsible for monthly reconciliations of control accounts.
  • Responsible for month end, quarterly and annual processes for Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Cash Book and general ledger in the finance system.
  • Manage the Fixed/Intangible Asset registers and depreciation schedules.
  • Provide financial support for ad hoc project evaluation and business cases.
  • Support internal, key controls review and external statutory accounts audits.
  • Work closely with HR to produce reliable headcount reports.
  • Liaising with HR and payroll provider to ensure accurate salary, pension, NI and PAYE payments.
  • Calculating and posting of accrued and deferred income.
  • Support the financial executive and set deliverables monthly to ensure the accounts are produced promptly.
  • Create a month end checklist and timetable to ensure accounts are produced within 5 working days of the period end.
