My client, a well known engineering company based in Walsall, is currently seeking an interim Management Accountant to join their finance team on a 3 month contract.
You should ideally be immediately available, or on a maximum of 1 week's notice.
You will need to pass bassline security clearance ahead of starting this role, so ideally you will either be a UK national or been living in the UK for the past 5 years+ and have the relevant right to work in the UK.

Job purpose

The Management Accountant role is involved in a large proportion of the day to day financials, looking at short term forecast, monthly reporting and cash management. The role requires the individual to make day to day decisions to support the business through provision of information and preparing month end results ahead of group reporting deadlines and looking at ways to improve the MI within the business.

Key accountabilities

· Liaising with Production Managers and Head of Production to prepare the short term production forecast
· Prepare month end management accounts along with explanations for variances between actual and forecast results
· Completion of month end reconciliations ensuring any consolidation journals are completed.
· Preparation of weekly Short Term Cashflow
· VAT returns
· Production efficiency bonus calculations and proposal for approval
· Liaising with the Shared Service Centre on issues and queries unresolved by the Finance Administrator
· Any other reasonable duties as required by the business

Person Specification

· CIMA/ACCA part qualified
· Accounting principles and practice - IFRS/FRS
· Experience of a manufacturing/ engineering environment
· Experience of working within a large complex company
· Good IT literacy, especially Excel
· Microsoft Navision exposure would be beneficial
