An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Management Accountant to work for a large engineering and support services provider based in Park Royal.

The organisation is at FTSE100 business; the UK's leading provider of engineering support providing tailored packages for critical services across London. You'll be working as part of the organisation's Support Services division to accurately report on the financial performance of specific contracts.

Job Purpose

To support the Contract Finance Manager in the day-to-day running of the financial operation for multiple contracts in the Fleet Management business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile contract profit and loss accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, commentary and variance analysis
  • Ensure the timely entry of month end adjustments relating to, but not limited to, Revenue, Direct Costs, Overheads and inter company transactions. Ensuring all entries are relevant, accurate and can be claimed in line with the contracts terms and conditions
  • Analysis of overhead costs
  • Assist with the compilation of the budgets and rolling forecasts
  • Responsible for all customer invoicing and resolving customer queries to ensure invoices are paid within payment term
  • Supporting the Finance Manager in producing daily, weekly and monthly dashboards that are easily communicated to non-finance colleagues
  • Producing weekly Aged Debtor reports for customers and actively chasing aged debt as and when the debt falls due, via telephone and email
  • Investigating shortfall/over payment of invoices and taking appropriate actions
  • Raise purchase order requests in accounting system as and when required
  • Redirecting supplier queries to central services accounts payable department, whilst taking ownership of relationship with top 10 suppliers
  • Assist in the resolution of supplier invoice queries and highlight any areas of concern relating to supplier invoices to central services accounts payable team
  • Protect the information assets of the Company and comply with the Company's Information Assurance policies and procedures at all times
  • In accordance with our certification to the standards ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007, and each employee will comply with and contribute to the effective implementation of the current Critical Services Division:

Key Knowledge and Skills required:

  • Previous experience in contract accounting - both P&L and Balance Sheet control
  • Advanced Excel skills - Vlookups, Pivot tables etc
  • Good planning and organisational skills, allowing work to be completed to strict deadlines
  • Previous experience using Navision (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Crystal reporting (desirable)
  • An ability to effectively communicate with senior managers and directors from all functions and areas of the business
  • Happy to travel as required to other business sites
