Management Accountant SF29809 Location: Bristol Role DescriptionWe currently have an opportunity for a Management Accountant working within Defence Systems Technology (DST), Bristol. DST is a business unit within the Marine Sector of Babcock International Group. Working on a range of exciting design, manufacture and support projects, DST works with a number of key clients domestically and internationally. We're based at a number of sites in the UK and overseas. The business continues to win new work and grow at a significant pace, as a result we are recruiting for talented, enthusiastic and driven people.ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Finance Manager and working alongside the Project Accountant, you will be responsible for providing key financial support to the Finance Manager and Head of Business. You will support the tendering and organic growth agenda of the Mission Systems Communications business as well as contributing to the business forecasting and overhead management process.Build strong, supportive relationships with the cost centre managers and bidding teams. * Ensure relevant monthly financial documentation and performance is delivered to the consolidation team on time. * Production of the monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations and Overhead review packs, with the input of the Project Accountant. * Regularly review the Overhead spend with the relevant cost owners. * Forecasting requirements to be completed on-time and to the highest standard. * Ensure the completion of ad-hoc tasks in a sufficient, timely and accurate manner. * Cash management and weekly cash forecasting. * Assisting internal and external audits, ensuring compliance is maintained at all times. * Close working relationships with the teams other Accountant. * Support and adhere to all related accounting procedures and requirements. * Deputise for the Finance Manager / Head of Finance as and when required. * Proactive and resourceful attitude towards achieving team goals, whilst building supportive working relationships across the wider business.Required Skills and Experience / QualificationsThe successful candidate will ideally:Be a newly qualified or finalist Accountant, preferably ACA, ACCA or CIMA. * Have experience in Project Accounting, ideally within an international manufacturing environment, although other industries are acceptable. * Be proficient with Microsoft Office - in particular, Excellent Excel skills (use of lookups and pivot tables). * Have experience of IFS finance system - Desirable. * Have an organised approach to work with experience of working to tight deadlines. * Be a confident and self-motivated team player. * Have excellent communication skills.What else do I need to know? * The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role. * We are happy to talk about flexible working.
