I am recruit for a FTSE 250 Engineering Support Services Organisation who is an industry leader of integrated solutions within the airport sector. They provide baggage handling systems and airside solutions within major airports across the UK. From designing, installing and managing complex baggage handling systems, to fleet management and engineering support for specialist ground support vehicles, our customers know they can trust us to deliver.

They are recruiting Duty Engineering Manager to provide a tactical service ensuring operational efficiency by the application of intelligent engineering principles, whilst providing leadership for the day to day maintenance function, and ensuring that all plant, machinery and infrastructure is kept in serviceable condition with required levels of availability and reliability.


  • Develop, implement and manage maintenance engineering best practice across all areas of responsibility within baggage.
  • Manage planned/preventative maintenance, managing the control, feedback and production of maintenance schedules
  • To provide leadership and motivation to the Maintenance Teams and Technical Support staff
  • To analyse equipment failures and follow up on corrective actions
  • Identify and recommend improvements to the effectiveness and cost of the overall maintenance activity through reviews of KPI's and Dashboard results.
  • To recruit, train & develop the technical and related teams to meet the demands of the operation.
  • To ensure appraisals for all staff are completed to a high standard and in a timely manner
  • To identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Experience / Qualifications

  • Existing Duty Engineer Experience
  • HNC/HND Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Leadership Skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Analytical report writing skills
  • Good communication and people skills
  • Experience in managing budgets
  • To be eligible for Airside Pass
