Local Security Administrator- London - 10 months

Our client, a market leading multi-national technology company are looking for a Local Security Administrator, to join them on a project based in London. The assignment is an initial 10 month contract and can offer a competitive daily rate.

The role holder is self-sufficient and has recognized specialist skills in supporting multiple products for multiple customers in order to maintain the availability and security of the Network Infrastructure. The role holder also delivers medium complexity work packages as part of customer implementation projects and has the ability to understand complex situations and activities, also being able to communicate basic technical information to non-technical people.

Key accountabilities:

  • Technical Capability. Works within a team as an established network specialist (e.g. detailed knowledge of the configuration of interlinked systems, implementing technical changes, building software regimes and contributing technically to service development) to support end users.
  • Follows established processes, releasing to the change control process verified, validated and documented enhancements to eliminate problems and proactively develop the service.
  • Service Level. Recognizes opportunities to improve performance against Service Level. Acts as a point of escalation to resolve service delivery issues. Monitors performance through statistical reporting and analysis.
  • Project Work. Works within the team or under guidance from the project manager with implementation of technical designs to meet service delivery requirements within own area of responsibility.
  • Problem Solving. Takes ownership in obtaining the information, evidence and data required to diagnose and resolve more complex problems (both new and known), Escalates or gains support where appropriate. Proactively analyzes, trends and reports on information (e.g. on performance service levels) in a timely manner to resolve problems, maintain and enhance service.

Skills - Mandatory:

  • 5+ years' demonstrable security experience within a governance environment
  • 2+ years' demonstrable experience of conducting technical system monitoring and audits e.g. using Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tooling or other elevated access privileges
  • Detailed understanding and experience of delivering security in accordance with JSP440 and other HMG regulations e.g. IS4 and IS5
  • Detailed knowledge of protective security covering all aspects of physical, information and technical security
  • Good knowledge of legislation affecting security matters and their application (e.g. The Official Secrets Act, Data Protection Act etc)
  • "A national security clearance is required for this role but candidates not holding this level of clearance will be considered"

Desirable Skills:

The client are interested in speaking with candidates who can demonstrate experience of the following;

  • May have attended security related training at the Centre for Protection Infrastructure (CPNI)
  • May possess knowledge of International Trafficking of Arms Regulations (ITAR)
  • Willing to travel and the ability to be mobile
