Learning & Development Manager

£50-60k plus package

Experis are recruiting on behalf of our Client a leading Engineering Support Services organisation for an experienced Learning & Development professional to join their team in Plymouth to take ownership of the strategy, design and delivery of high impact development programmes and interventions.

The main responsibilities of this role are as follows -

  • Lead the design and implementation of robust talent management processes and development initiatives to ensure key talent development, succession planning, career management and performance management outcomes are realised
  • Work with individual business units to ensure that talent management and succession planning plans are in place in order to support the needs of the business
  • Identify risks and potential losses of individuals to the division, with proposals to mitigate them
  • Strategic and effective management of succession planning process
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of talent to ensure future growth in-line with corporate strategy and direction
  • Ensure return on investment / expectation and evaluate effectiveness of learning and development offerings, where appropriate
  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships ensuring sponsorship, buy in and involvement in talent and succession planning processes
  • Identify and define employee engagement programme; developing and implementing a project plan with high visibility - in conjunction with the Head of Stakeholder Engagement & Employee Relations
  • Focus on statutory and mandatory training - ensuring standardised approach and strong reporting to ensure all regulatory requirements are met from a training perspective

The successful candidate will display the following skills and experience -

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent industry experience
  • Experience and evidence of working at a strategic level delivering high performance through inspiring leadership
  • Extensive broad base Senior Management experience of working with public or private sectors commercial organisations
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering employee engagement programmes
  • Demonstrable experience of maintaining an effective pipeline of talent
  • Significant experience of developing and executing talent management and succession planning programmes in-line with business requirements
  • Strong relationship building skills able to influence and impact all level of stakeholders
  • CIPD or equivalent L&D certification - desirable
  • Prior experience working in a Unionised Industrial Environment
