Job Purpose/Key Responsibilities This role of Lead UX is to combine the line management of the UX Team with helping the Principal UX in shaping delivery, and is focused around three core areas: Team management * Line manage the day-to-day UX team (Senior UX / UX Designer levels), becoming the first port of call for inspiration, guidance, advice and support. * Encourage and proselytise use of best practice UCD methodologies to deliver a simpler, more intuitive user experience across Group products, helping enhance CSat metrics specific to UX (Ease of Use / Ease of Finding Something To Watch). * Shaping the teams ability to improve core skills, identifying and enabling opportunities for career growth through empowerment. * Play a key role leading specific work streams within the Group Product Design Team Plan over the next two years. Creativity, Craft & Quality * Support the Principal UX in shaping the day-to-day delivery and forward-looking user experience direction for our products, ensuring it's in line with wider product and brand strategy and constantly breaking new ground. * Learn from and implement external best practice and thinking on how we improve the creative UX output through more efficient specialist tools, and processes. * Lead by example by setting a benchmark for what good looks like through clarity and an innovative approach to output of deliverables. Relationship & Network building * Work with stakeholder groups both inside and outside the Group Product team at product owner, and senior manager level. * Help to evolve efficient delivery processes and assist with allocation of resource in relationship with the Design Ops Principal and Principal Designer: UX. * Create a network of expertise/knowledge within the business and London to attract strong talent to the team. Required skills and experience: * 6+ years' experience with a specific focus on UX design, or a Bachelors degree in Design or HCI. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to convey complex design concepts clearly to different delivery skill sets within the organization. * Proven experience of UCD design principles and methodologies, with an ability to conduct competitor analysis & benchmarking, create user journeys, user flows, sitemaps, wireframes and interactive prototypes. * Solid understanding of UCD, human interface guidelines, standards, and best practices as they apply to various platforms and devices. * Experience of running qualitative user research, quantitative analytics metrics independently or via specialists to aid insight driven design. * Strong background in gathering business requirements and translating sometimes competing business objectives into designs which meet customer needs. * Experience working within a high-pressure delivery environment, and in a highly collaborative manner with multiple delivery skill sets. * Proficient with the latest tools and applications such as Sketch, InVision, or Adobe creative suite. * A keen eye for maintaining consistency of our brand guidelines, principles, templates and assets. * Experience in running collaboration sessions via discovery workshops, helping drive alignment and innovation through experiences we deliver. * A proactive, self-driven individual that has an equally strong team ethos. * Experience designing for TV an advantage, but not essential.
