We have an exciting opportunity with one of our high profile government clients based in Coventry, West Midlands. You will be part of a new dynamic digital team who are wholly focussed on developing digital services for customers and front line staff.
We are looking for a Lead Solutions Architect who can be responsible for the design and build of both solutions and
technical architectures. It will be your job to communicate the vision for services to developers and non-developers alike. You'll thrive using agile methods and enjoy working with departments and in multidisciplinary teams.
Role Responsibilities:
Working within the service, understanding user needs, defining and designing solutions, implementing transformation projects, maintaining continuous improvement and enhancing customer experience.
You will be responsible for maintaining the architecture body of knowledge, establishing standards and
patterns that contribute back to wider technical communities.
Working as a technical subject matter expert, reviewing and steering delivery scope, design and Technology
Building and maintaining technical roadmaps, looking ahead for future opportunities or blockers, and ensuring decisions by development teams align with the strategy
You will be responsible for taking services through GDS assessments
Developing and maintaining relationships with your peers across government and suppliers / partners
Advising on optimal architectures and ensuring projects are run using appropriate assurance activities, best practice guidelines and appropriate methodologies
Anticipating and mitigating against architecture challenges or delivery risks
Defining and managing technical procurement requirements
Take responsibility for working with developers communicating constraints and ensuring key solution decisions are communicated clearly across the community
Experience required:
Minimum 3 years' experience of working as a Solution Architect, across a wide range of architectures, technologies and programming languages
Experience of working with business and technology stakeholders to translate business problems into solution designs, producing clear architecture artefacts
Experience of working in an Agile / DevOps environment, designing and delivering digital services, and successfully navigating associated governance & assurance
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to discuss technical detail with business stakeholders, challenging and solving any issues that may arise quickly and effectively
Strong understanding of modern engineering practices - CI/CD, PaaS, cloud-native & cloud platform services (such as MS Azure, AWS, Google)
Line management experience, including coaching, mentoring and developing yourself & others
