Lead Problem Manager

We have an exciting opportunity with one of our high profile government clients based in Salford, Greater Manchester. They have one of largest IT estates in the UK that is engaged with by several million customers each year.

As a result of ongoing growth within their Live Services IT department they are seeking a Lead Problem Manager to join the team. You will be accountable for the delivery of the Problem Management process across the Home Office estate, including diverse portfolios such as Borders, UK Visa & Immigration (UKVI) and Her Majesty's Passport Office (HMPO). Specifically this position will sit in the team that is responsible for Service Management.

Role Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the Problem Management team and their workload ensuring alignment with Home Office Digital, Data and Technology (HODDaT) strategy and that standards and timescales are met.
* Develop and strengthen the Problem Management team through coaching and mentoring whilst leading by example demonstrating excellent practitioner as well as management skills.
* Ensure an effective Service Integration role is provided, coordinating the delivering of Problem Management activities across all internal and external suppliers including strategic partners.
* Act as an escalation point for Problem Management, negotiating and managing conflict as necessary with suppliers, stakeholders and customers.
* Ensure any service risks identified through Problem Management are logged, reported, managed and escalated as appropriate and in accordance with standard HODDaT Processes.
* Support other elements of the Service Management Lifecycle such as strategy, design and transition to ensure a joined up approach to Service Management.

Experience required:
* Strong background of Problem Management across large estates.
* Experience of managing teams in a large and complex problem management environments.
* Experience of managing a variety of stakeholders and suppliers efficiently.
* General knowledge of IT hardware and software
* ITIL Foundation
