Role: Lead Engineer - Product safety

Location: Aberdeen or Bristol

Duration: 6 Month Initial Contract

Pay Rate: Negotiable

My Client are the world's first and only fullstream provider of integrated oilfield products and they are looking for an experienced Lead Engineer with strong Product safety experience to join their team in either Bristol or Aberdeen on an initial contract of 6 months.

Essential Responsibilities

  • The Product Safety Leader will work closely with relevant functions across the business to facilitate execution of the product safety process.
  • Lead investigation of field safety incidents; assist root cause analysis by working with crossfunctional teams representing Product Service, Design Engineering, EHS, and the Chief Engineer's Office
  • Perform incident risk modeling on complex systems to assess design safety risk and environmental hazards
  • Lead the design team to identify and assess risk mitigation measures that assure tolerable risk level is achieved
  • Facilitate proactive product safety reviews in support of both new product introduction and existing product fulfillment activities
  • Research safety related information on equipment and processes
  • Update and maintain Product Safety analysis records and metric reports
  • Support the preparation of SPMT (Safety Program Management Team), PSRB (Product Safety Review Board) and PSC (Product Safety Council) review meetings and record the meeting minutes
  • Ensure all aspects of product safety are addressed within the constraints of operational effectiveness, time and cost throughout the product life cycle
  • Create process improvements to streamline overall process and ensure timely closure to meet customer deliverables
  • Motivate, organize and train personnel in all aspects of the product safety review process


  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, Safety, or Environmental Engineering or equivalent knowledge and experience.
  • Proven years of experience in a subsea engineering environment in one or more Engineering functions (Design, Testing, Services, or related)
