OVERVIEW:The candidate will have a solid background in molecular biology assay development, including NGS library preparation and execution of DNA sequencing experiments, and will have a keen interest in cutting edge sequencing technologies applied to clinical samples. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Perform, design and execute experiments such as nucleic acid isolation and purification, next generation sequencing (NGS) library preparation, DNA/RNA sequencing and QC. Keep a detailed record and tracking of samples throughout the preparation and sequencing process. Collaborate with a team of other scientists to optimize sequencing protocols and automation of laboratory procedures. Work closely with team members to analyse sequencing results, support troubleshooting efforts and resolve issues of increasing complexity. Ensure maintenance of laboratory instrumentation. Communicate internally and with external partners via written reports and technical meetings SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 1+ years of post-graduate experience in assay development and molecular biology-related studies. Practical experience with DNA/RNA purification methods, NGS library preparation and whole genome sequencing. Good documentation skills, attention to detail and multi-task are a must. Self-driven, strong ability to work independently as well as collaboratively Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills Sc. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or other related biological science disciplines PreferredScientific background in cancer and rare diseases Practical experience with long-reads sequencing technologies (ONT, PacBio) and methodologies to process high-molecular weight DNA Due to the high volume of applications we receive we are not able to get back to everyone who applies. Therefore if you have not heard back from Experis within 7 days please assume that your application has been unsuccessful however we will contact you if suitable roles come up that match your skill set.
