Laboratory Manager

Key responsibilities

  • Liaising with clients and business development to strategically grow the Inhalations group . This will include providing considerable input into the pricing of large complex proposals, and being the first point of contact for Inhalation clients and being be able to build and maintain client relationships and identify new areas for business.
  • Leading multiple reports in a positive and encouraging manner to motivate the team with drive, energy and enthusiasm.
  • Preparing and updating revenue projection reports and evaluating resource utilisation and project profitability. Ensuring delivery of technical programs on time, to budget and to the highest quality standards.
  • Reviewing data for technical quality and compliance to protocols, methods and SOPs; reviewing and approving laboratory investigations, deviations, QA facility and data audits; leading client and regulatory audits.
  • Reviewing and approving study protocols, project status reports, final study reports and other project-related technical documents.
  • Close collaboration with the wider management team in strategic planning, budgeting, new capabilities development and other responsibilities.


Skills and experience

  • Educated to a Bachelor's Degree level in a relevant area, ie chemistry.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with inhalation products such as Pressurized Metered Dose Inhalers, (pMDI), Dry Powder Inhalers (DPI), Aqueous Nasal Sprays, Nebulizers and Nebulizer solutions, preferably from Phase 1 through to commercialisation.
  • Management experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech or analytical contract laboratory industries.
  • Stability/QC/analytical R&D/project and program management.
  • Full understanding of cGMP requirements, client SOPs, ICH guidelines, EP and USP requirements and EMEA and FDA guidance's.
