Lab Research Technician - Viral Vector

Our customers undertake life-saving activities. These range from fundamental biological research to developing innovative vaccines, biologic drugs, and novel cell and gene therapies. Our job is to supply the tools and services - the pots, pans, soups and sauces - they need to work better, faster and safer, leading to better patient outcomes.

We are looking for a Research Technician to work with our expert Viral Vector/Advanced Therapies team. Do you have a passion for development of new processes for cell and gene therapy field? Then we would love to hear from you.

What you'll do

  • Plan and execute key technical and analytical studies connected to process development for complex bio-molecules, including tissue culture, viral purification's and analytics.
  • Work closely with a cross-disciplinary R&D team of Biologists, Chemists, Engineers and Material Scientists to support process development activities
  • Provide support to ensure laboratory compliance to Environment Health & Safety regulations
  • Produce detailed laboratory records and create accurate SOPs and technical reports in collaboration with other team members

Who you are

  • BSc / MSc in biochemistry, molecular / cell biology / bio-engineering (or related fields), with 1+ year experience of relevant laboratory-based experience
  • Practical experience with BSL 2 tissue culture is strongly preferred
  • Previous experience carrying out a range of analytical assays (dd- / qPCR, ELISA, microscopy)
  • Knowledge of purification's methods for complex bio-molecules
  • Demonstrated success in designing and executing experiments independently under minimal supervision
  • Detail-oriented, self-starter with excellent analytical skills and the ability to multitask and succeed in a team environment
  • Highly motivated, with a creative and forward-thinking attitude to problem-solving and troubleshooting
